Slept well, on the path by 7.30am, due to being so close to the houses. A dog walker kindly asked if she could let the dog off the lead, I was impressed. Simple walk to Teignmouth, heaven built a Weatherspoons. 8-9 luxury, breakfast coffee, WiFi, but no mobile signal. Had to phone from the square. A driver yelled to Jehovah witnesses,' is there a God?', I imagine people jumped with my enthusiastic response.

The ruck sack, map, compass, and lost look attracted a Scot called Paul to confirm direction, he walked with me for about a mile, talking about Scotland, life in Teignmouth, weather, and showed me Hornblower's house.

After the bridge, the hills started, after 3 hours surrendered to the roads. Got to Mort's house at 2.30pm.

Mort is a friend of a friend. He knew the people in the swimming club really well. We got on really well. Once recovered from the walk, engaged the drinking venues of Torquay. The Hole In The Wall is well worth a detour.
