It was good to be wild camping again. Felt I was back on the walk. It was hot last night. Will have to think about how to keep cool at night as opposed to how to keep warm. Left Sharrow Point at 7. Thought my luck was in with a portaloo in the roadside carpark. It was chained shut.

The coastal path is parallel to the road, which had less hills, so walked on the road. It is a lot easier.

The first cafe was at Downderry. Only to find it was closed on Thursdays. Needed to rest a lady using walking sticks said that was her type of luck.

Found an open bar for coffee in Seaton. It had WiFi. My website was now working also I was able to contact penhale farm, the camping and caravanning site. The owner was just leaving to Bath, so I dashed to the site to book in before he left. I hate people waiting for me so rushed. It was a very steep climb, he was surprised I got there so quickly. My knees felt it later. Great chat about the walk, and being registered with camp and caravanning club. A lot of sites are leaving for freedom camping.

I chose an easy day to rest use a CCC site, and set up before the afternoon thunder storm.

I think this relaxed system will help the walk. Enjoyed experimenting with putting up the tent, up dating this website, wonderful shower in a unit with a plastic roof that allowed sunshine into the shower.

Lunch in Seaton and the day is good. Day 8 miles, walk total 762, GR SX 290550.
