Some days are lucky. Only had one other person in my dorm and he was Peter, the German I had met at Boswinger YHA. So the room was not stuffy.

At breakfast spoke to 2 others who were camping at the hostel, to wind surfing.

Left at 9.30, a local painter was walking to the Chynhalls Point. He said he gets into the water to paint. Not sure I understand why as waves must interfere. The path had been cut back since yesterday.

I was amazed at the number of retired Germans walking. Some with full back pack.

First opportunity for coffee was Kennack Sands. £2 coffee or£5 Cream tea. It came with 2 huge scones, still warm. A good 30 minutes rest. In the cafe a couple were walking from Lizard Youth Hostel to Coverack Youth Hostel., So got the rundown on Lizard.

Only 2 miles to Cadgwith. Many said to see the village, so had another cup of tea.

Got to the Lizard Youth Hostel at 3.30pm. it was not due to open till 5, I expected to wait outside. The Warden allowed me in, and due to overbooking, I have been upgraded to the double room, sea view. Good value at£9.80.

This hostel is an old hotel next to the light house. The most southern most building on UK mainland.

8 miles, total now 902 miles, SW 703116.
