Murky rain when I got up at 06.10, packed up and out at 07.40. Walked back to Lee Abbey and was able to phone Anne, Foot was ok. Once I got into the rhythm of walking I did not think about it. Enjoyed the Valley of the Rocks recommended by the camp site manager. Met a walker going in the opposite direction who was walking for a South African Charity. He had been here for 30 years Lynon is very steep to walk in and after a bacon and egg on toast endured the steep climb out of the town.

On Foreland Point the wind detached my solar panel  so I had to find a wind shelter to adjust, mistook a sheep track for a path and found a cliff so I had to turn back and pick up the tarmac path. Savoured the moment crossing the Glenthorne stream. I was now out of Devon and onto a new map. At a mars bar moment met a german who had done lots of walks in the canaries and a fractured foot. Great chatting about different experiences of wild camping. On the Porlock Road, on the edge of my endurance, i could see the camp site, I met Joahanson, at first i thought he was going to ask for money, but he was the ultimate wild camper planning on walking till 9pm and finding a spot to pitch. He had walked around Ireland , Offa's Dyke, I was jealous of his youth. At Porlock campsite was another ring a mobile number, who told you where to camp and to put £12 in the letter box. I met a young couple from Bishops Stalford,  starting out on the South West Coastal Path from Minehead. They were keen to know about efficient use of fuel when cooking.  In the sack at 8 Days total 15 miles Project total 1096 miles
