I had decided not to walk on today, I was concerned about my foot. I had tried to dig out the splinter. I think it had irritated the skin forming a hard skin area so had a permenant feeling i was walking on a small stone. Also, it was raining hard when i woke up and I had walked a long way the day before. It felt so good just to lie in my tent listen to the rain and not need to get up. The site manager had fully agreed with me and said 'Mint', I had to ask if it was a Manchester expression, He said it was welsh.

I spent the day listening to the radio , especially the tennis and working out how to get home. Also tried to dig out the splinter from my foot. It did not work. By chance listened to radio 4 at 3pm and it was about the cost of exercise. Then i heard my daughter Joanne who had phoned in about outdoor swimming. So I immediatly text her. That night suddenly worried about travelling home I booked a coach from Minehead, at 01.30 am
